I offer Tarot as a creative and intuitive resource for writers, both one-to-one and in groups.

 

Tarot helps nourish the creative process. The rich imagery and symbolism in the  cards resonates with the rich, mysterious realm of our creative unconscious. Being immersed in this realm is a kind of flow state where we are less prone to the creative blocks which are part of the more rational mind, and answers often arrive intuitively. 

 

Tarot can also be used in a practical way to hone your writing  - helping to problem-solve issues or shaping character and plot. Tarot imagery is full of stories - characters and conflicts, arcs and resolutions - and each card is a scene. In this way it has a natural affinity with the craft of storytelling.

Tarot can also be used for creative divination. Sometimes when we can encounter stuckness, blocks or problems with our writing, divination can be a fun and enlightening fix. You could see this as communing with the universe, or simply as a way of brainstorming the creative unconscious.

​​​Tarot for craft workshop

Online (Zoom): 10am-1pm

This workshop is all about using Tarot to support the practical aspects of writing craft. We'll be using the rich imagery and symbolism of the cards to create new characters and plot from scratch, and to refine any projects we are currently working on. There will also be a group 'divination story surgery' to address any writing craft problems, so come ready with a story question you would like the Tarot cards to answer!​

We will also be reading the cards for ourselves and each other, discovering our own unique creative resources along the way. We will also be meeting our very own creative muse on a guided journey.​
