My Journey

I’m Kate - a tarot practitioner and sound healer with a professional background in psychotherapy. I’m a blend of two worlds: the rational and the intuitive, the grounded and the magical. My long and winding journey has always been a balancing act of heart and head.

I first learned tarot from my grandmother and in my twenties, I followed the tug of my heart into the alternative therapy world. I trained in Reiki, energy work, shamanic practice, sound healing, yoga therapy and past life regression... amongst other things. I was - and still am - a seeker.

I saw the shadow side of spirituality too though: dogma, ungrounded practices, bypassing and spaces that were uncontained, even unsafe. In my early thirties I sought traditional therapy, trying to make sense of it all.

What began as a curiosity about counselling and dealing with my own stuff became a five-year Integrative Psychotherapy MA, a private practice in London, and a career as a trauma specialist. â€‹I was anchored in the safe, rational, therapeutic world, and although tarot was still a daily resource for me, I didn't know how to bring my two worlds together.

I was in my early forties when the pandemic hit. I tried to keep working but I felt myself slowly thinning out. I was stuck in my head, estranged from my deeper soul self. My psychotherapist role was 'successful', but it had stopped me walking my soul's path.

I took a long pause and slowly began the winding road back to my spiritual roots. I immersed myself in the worlds of sound healing and tarot again, but this time with all my therapeutic grounding and experience.

This led me to the psychospiritual approach I now offer with the tarot and the sacred drum: spiritual exploration grounded in safety and co-creation. The mind and soul working in partnership. An alliance of head and heart. â€‹

An offering from the whole of me: therapist and seeker.
